Christians across the globe believe they are living in the End Times. And evidence continues to pile up in that belief’s corner.
The world is currently enduring a conglomeration of events that are all predicted to occur in the Bible, wars and rumors of wars overlap historic droughts and decaying morality within society. Men call evil good and good evil, and have replaced God with false idols.
Perhaps the most telling sign of the times is the changing attitude toward Israel. Across the world, Jews are enduring an increase of anti-Semitism, including from countries that were once staunch allies.
The most glaring and hypocritical source of anti-Semitism in the world however comes from the closest thing to a one-world government in the world at the moment: the United Nations. Israel has been targeted and attacked constantly by unelected bureaucrats within the U.N.
Time and again, Israel is the subject of initiatives within the U.N, while true human rights violating nations are placed in positions of power. Recently, the U.N. General Assembly attempted to dictate to Israel that it needed to give up its nuclear weapons in a lopsided 149-6 vote. The resolution, put forward by the Palestinian Authority, said that Israel must “not to develop, produce, test or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons” and to “renounce possession of nuclear weapons.”
There were 20 other nations that put forward this resolution, including alleged allies of Israel: Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.
The only nations to vote against the resolution were Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States.
While Israel has never threatened a nation with a nuclear attack, nor have they ever even acknowledged that they have nuclear warheads, it is simply assumed that they do. Iran was not mentioned once within the resolution, even though it threatens Israel and the United States with destruction regularly.
In spite of all the hatred and violence targeted for Israel, there is reassurance in the fact that God will protect His people. Israel will not be wiped off the earth despite the constant threat from anti-Semitic countries.
But the attacks will continue, and the people of Israel are in need of the prayers of their Christian brethren. Lift up the nation of Israel to the Lord, for as God said to Abraham in Genesis 12, “I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
