During the recent Alabama v. Georgia game, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa injured his ankle and was rushed into surgery, but not before former NFL running back Shaun Alexander could stop and pray with him.

According to CBN News, as the undefeated team’s quarterback was being rolled off the field, Alexander, an Alabama Alumni, came over to pray with Tagovailoa.

The video, which was captured by WVTM-13’s sports anchor Kyle Burger, was posted to Twitter and has since garnered around 131,000 views.

Tagovailoa, one of college’s most promising quarterbacks, is known for being very vocal about his Christian faith, he even made a point to give glory to God for Alabama’s 2018 National Championship win.

Furthermore, Sports Spectrum Magazine reports that Tagovailoa shared earlier this season that he and fellow Heisman candidate Dwayne Haskins, often share Bible verses with each other.

Alexander, a record-holding NFL running back, is also well known for his Christian faith. Alexander played football in the NFL for nine years, during which he went to three Pro Bowls and Super Bowl XL. According to CBN News, Alexander holds the title for being the only player in NFL history to score 15 touchdowns or more in five consecutive seasons.

“I am a Christian that loves the Lord that just happens to play football, that happens to get to be on cool TV shows, that happens to get to be on commercials. I’m a Godly man first. I chase after God. I play football for the sole reason to give God Glory,” he told CBN just before he retired from football.
