Once in a Life Time Solar Eclipse Seen in U.S.
The astronomical phenomenon of the century occurred on August 21st as Americans from coast to coast were captivated by the first total solar eclipse in the U.S. since 1918. Temperatures dropped, birds stopped chirping and tens of millions of people stood looking up at the sky. It was easy to understand why many Christians viewed this as an act of God. It was for many, evidence of God’s majesty- and even to a few, a harbinger of the coming of the end of the world.

Christians Celebrate the 500th anniversary of the launch of the Protestant Reformation
On Oct. 31, Protestants, evangelicals, and Pentecostals around the world marked the day when an Augustinian monk and scholar by the name of Martin Luther is widely believed to have posted 95 theses outlining his objections to corrupt practices in the Catholic church to the door of Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Arguably, the most important recovery from Luther’s life was the doctrine of justification, that a person receives salvation by the grace of God through faith and not by any of his of her works, a truth that had gotten buried under mounds of traditions over the years.

Gallup just released its annual list of which man and woman in the world were admired most in 2017. Mr. Graham has been among the top 10 most admired men every year since 1963 (except 1976 when the survey didn’t happen). He also appeared on the list every year from 1955-1961. He was ranked fourth this year.
